As the national youth conference approaches in the first quarter of 2025, Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian Centre, Sam Adeyemi, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to present a compelling 30-year vision for Nigeria. Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise program on Saturday, Adeyemi highlighted the importance of long-term planning for sustainable development.
“Mr. President needs to come with pictures, 3D of what Nigeria will be like in 30 years’ time,” Adeyemi stated.
The cleric underscored the necessity of transforming belief systems and mindsets to achieve sustainable change. “No leader will create sustainable change if he or she cannot shift the mindset. You cannot shift people’s culture without shifting their beliefs and mindset,” he explained.
Adeyemi shared an anecdote about a former governor who lamented the lack of vision among his team. The ex-governor reportedly said, “My biggest problem is not infrastructure. When I want to do a job, I get the best contractor to do it. My biggest problem is mindset.” He recounted how a cabinet member dismissed discussions on vision, focusing instead on immediate personal interests.
The pastor stressed the need for a paradigm shift in leadership approaches, emphasizing that lasting change must address both conscious and subconscious behaviors. “You can’t kill a habit; you have to replace it with a new one nature harbors a vacuum,” he noted.
Adeyemi concluded by advocating for visionary leadership that inspires collective development to secure a brighter future for Nigeria.
