Singer Lionel Richie has been hospitalized as a precaution after appearing to struggle toward the end of a weekend concert in St. Louis, according to a source close to his tour.

The 77-year-old music legend headlined The Muny’s annual summer finale concert Saturday night, where audience members reportedly noticed signs of discomfort as the performance drew to a close.

Richie, best known for hits including “Hello” and “All Night Long,” reportedly performed his final song of the evening while seated.

The hospitalization comes just over two months after Richie experienced dizziness onstage during the June 24 opening night of his tour with Earth, Wind & Fire in Minnesota.

Videos shared online from that performance showed Richie singing while seated for portions of the show.

Following the incident, two scheduled concerts — in Columbus, Ohio, and Chicago — were postponed after doctors advised Richie to rest and fully recover.

He returned to the stage on June 30, performing alongside Earth, Wind & Fire in Pittsburgh.

Richie’s current tour began in June. No additional details about his condition or how long he is expected to remain hospitalized were immediately available.
