Ekiti State Ends Work-From-Home Policy for Civil Servants

The Ekiti State Government has announced the immediate termination of its work-from-home policy for civil servants.

Initially implemented in September 2024 to cushion the impact of fuel subsidy removal, the policy permitted public servants to work remotely for one to three days weekly, depending on their grade level.

In a letter issued by the Office of Establishment and Service Matters, the government explained that the policy’s cancellation was prompted by the implementation of the new minimum wage and continued investments in employee welfare. The letter, signed by Permanent Secretary Mrs. Funke Ajibola, also cited the state’s significant contributions to the national economy as a key factor in the decision.

The directive mandates all affected workers to resume full-time office duties starting Monday, signaling a shift in the state’s workforce management strategy to align with evolving economic and administrative goals.
