President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Abuja for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to participate in the 2025 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW), an event running from January 12 to 18. The summit aims to bring together global leaders to advance sustainable development and socioeconomic progress.

The President left the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at approximately 6:30 PM on Friday. According to Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the invitation was extended by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

This year’s ADSW, themed “The Nexus of Next: Supercharging Sustainable Progress,” serves as a platform for policymakers, business leaders, and civil society representatives to discuss strategies for transitioning to a sustainable economy and fostering global prosperity.

During the summit, President Tinubu is expected to showcase his administration’s reform efforts, with a focus on energy sufficiency, transportation, public health, and economic development.

The President is scheduled to return to Nigeria on Thursday, January 16.
