President Bola Tinubu has appointed Mrs. Folashade Arinola Adekaiyaoja as the new Deputy Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), with the aim of bolstering the agency’s morale and enhancing its response to key security challenges.
The appointment is part of a broader restructuring of the DSS, which will now have three Deputy Directors-General in its hierarchy, aligning with the service’s original organogram for improved efficiency.
Adekaiyaoja, an experienced intelligence officer from Kogi State, was selected based on a recommendation from DSS Director-General, ratified by President Tinubu through National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu.
In his statement, President Tinubu highlighted the importance of collaboration among all security agencies to address the nation’s security concerns, emphasizing that the appointment aligns with existing regulations and marks a historic milestone for the DSS. This follows the president’s earlier appointment of Oluwastosin Ajayi as the Director-General of the DSS in August 2024.
