Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has called on government appointees to step up their performance and work selflessly for the state’s progress.
Speaking at the 2025 Executive Retreat in Miango, Bassa Local Government Area, on Monday, Mutfwang reminded officials that no position is permanent except for himself and the deputy governor.
“There is no time for selfishness. The era of operating individually and building personal power structures is over. We must all work together for the progress of society,” he stated.
He urged appointees to maximize their time in public service, regardless of how long they hold a position.
“Even if you serve in a ministry for just three months, make a difference. Be sincere in your work. While loyalty to me is appreciated, I want your loyalty to shift to the God of heaven,” Mutfwang said.
The governor emphasized integrity, selflessness, and responsibility, noting that Plateau residents are facing poverty and hardship and expect real solutions.
“We can’t afford to wait the time to make a difference is now. Wherever you are assigned, give your best and stretch yourself to provide solutions for our people. May we not fail,” he added.
The retreat was attended by commissioners, permanent secretaries, special advisers, and other key government officials.
