FG to Distribute N75,000 Cash to 70 Million Nigerians to Ease Hardship

The Federal Government has finalized plans to distribute ₦75,000 in cash to 70 million Nigerians as part of efforts to mitigate economic hardships.

Hon. Aliyu Audu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, emphasizing that the initiative underscores President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to reducing poverty nationwide.

Audu, also a convener of the APC National Stakeholders Forum and APC Rebirth Movement, highlighted Tinubu’s achievements within 19 months in office, citing evidence of strong performance both locally and internationally.

He noted that bold policies under Tinubu’s administration have attracted substantial foreign portfolio investments and strengthened Nigeria’s economic standing. Foreign reserves have risen by 23%, totaling $7.69 billion year-on-year, due to effective monetary and fiscal strategies implemented by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Federal Government.

Audu added that CBN’s interest rate management has encouraged foreign exchange inflows, while improvements in the non-oil sector and increased oil production have significantly boosted revenue.

At the state and local government levels, Audu highlighted triple increases in federal allocations, enabling timely payments to contractors and enhancing food production. He attributed falling food prices to improved farm access and enhanced security efforts by the armed forces.

The statement also celebrated initiatives like the delivery of 255 tractors to farmers for agricultural mechanization and the repatriation of $52.88 million in looted funds from the United States.

Audu called for sustained efforts by APC stakeholders to promote Tinubu’s people-centric policies ahead of his two-year milestone in office on May 29, 2025.
