Adeleke Accuses Oyetola of Plotting Mayhem in Osun, Calls for Tinubu’s Intervention

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has accused his predecessor, Adegboyega Oyetola, of orchestrating a plot to incite violence in the state starting Monday.

Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Adeleke urged President Bola Tinubu to intervene, alleging that Oyetola—now the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy is attempting to forcefully reinstate sacked local government chairmen elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Adeleke warned that if Oyetola is not restrained, residents might be forced to defend themselves.

“I called this press conference to alert the national and global audience about a deliberate plot to create chaos and anarchy in Osun State,” he stated.

He further accused Oyetola of working with security agencies, including the state commissioner of police and the DSS director, to destabilize the state.

“The bone of contention is the brazen effrontery to return to office council chairmen sacked by a subsisting court judgment using a different court decision, which has no consequential order,” Adeleke said.

The governor called on Tinubu to direct National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu and Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) Lateef Fagbemi to verify the legitimacy of the court order in question.

The allegations have heightened political tensions in Osun, as both parties remain locked in a fierce power struggle.
