Tobi Amusan has secured her fourth consecutive national title in the women’s 100 meters hurdles at the national Olympic trials held in Benin, Edo State.
The 27-year-old dominated the final yesterday, finishing with a time of 12.78 seconds, significantly ahead of her competitors.
Amusan’s victory at these trials adds to her impressive record, having won the national title at the Olympic trials in Lagos in 2021 and in Benin for the past two years.

Women’s 100 Meters
Favour Ofili clinched the national title in the women’s 100 meters, securing an automatic qualification for the Paris Olympics. The 21-year-old clocked a season-best of 11.06 seconds.
Olayinka Olajide finished second with a time of 11.37 seconds.
Justina Eyakpobeyan took third place.
Men’s 100 Meters
Kanyinsola Ajayi won the men’s 100 meters title, finishing with a time of 10.14 seconds.
Alaba Akintola came in second, clocking 10.16 seconds.
Usheoritse Itsekiri secured third place.
Men’s Shot Put
Chukwuebuka Enekwechi claimed his fourth consecutive national title in the men’s shot put. Enekwechi’s best throw of 21.37 meters was achieved in just three attempts, which proved unbeatable by his competitors.
