President Bola Tinubu has blamed opposition parties for the hunger and poverty confronting Nigerians, insisting that his administration is working to address the challenges.
Tinubu spoke on Saturday at the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign flag-off in Kaduna, where he defended his administration’s performance and urged Nigerians to support his bid for a second term in 2027.
“I hear my opponents talking about hunger and poverty. Who created it? They did. They created the hunger; they created the poverty. We are trying to eradicate it,” Tinubu said.
The president said his administration pays salaries regularly and commended APC governors for their performance.
“Our governors are working, and I am proud of them,” he said.
Tinubu also dismissed criticism from opposition parties, describing them as failures who had nothing to offer Nigerians.
“To you, the children of our country, this is a promise of a second term: prosperity. You will not regret voting. This is not a matter of hunger; this is not a matter of anger either. Our opponents are angry because they are failures. They have nothing to offer you,” Tinubu said.
He assured Nigerians that his administration would deliver “prosperity, consistency, growth, recovery and opportunities” if re-elected in 2027.
