Former Kogi West Senator Dino Melaye has mocked President Bola Tinubu’s administration over Nigeria’s economic hardship, using the announcement of an Ebola outbreak to highlight what he described as the severity of the country’s challenges.
In a post on his verified X handle on Sunday, Melaye suggested that Nigerians had become accustomed to bad news after enduring years of economic difficulties.
“Nigerians seem not to worry about the announcement of the Ebola outbreak. Everybody no send, because they have been living with Ebola senior brother for more than 3 years now. Bola! Bola pass Ebola,” he said.
The former lawmaker used the wordplay to compare the hardship under Tinubu’s administration with the threat posed by the Ebola virus, suggesting that the economic situation had become a more immediate concern for many Nigerians.
Melaye, known for his comic political jabs, added that the country’s economic situation had made citizens increasingly indifferent to alarming developments.
