The Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR) has discredited a circulating 2027 presidential campaign poster featuring Peter Obi, former Labour Party presidential candidate, and Bukola Saraki, former Senate President, calling it a “figment of people’s imagination.”
Yunusa Tanko, the spokesperson for the group, clarified, “It’s just people’s imagination. There’s no hint of a presidential run, but we’re working for the good of the people.” The controversial poster, which has been making rounds online, depicts Saraki as the presidential candidate with Obi as his vice-presidential running mate. The poster carries the slogan, “Let’s restore our country back, come 2027.”
However, it’s important to note that neither Saraki nor Obi has officially announced any plans to run for the presidency in the 2027 election. Saraki remains a prominent figure within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), while Obi continues to be a member of the Labour Party (LP), after his departure from the PDP leading up to the 2023 presidential election.
