Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has officially sworn in Major-General Muhammad Inuwa Idris (rtd) as the newly established Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security commissioner.
The announcement of this portfolio followed the governor’s inauguration of new boards for Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, Yusuf Maitama Sule University, and Kano State Polytechnic.
According to Daily Trust, the Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security was created approximately five months ago, though no commissioner had been appointed until now. Governor Yusuf urged the newly appointed officials to demonstrate skill and efficiency, encouraging them to take decisive actions that will foster rapid growth and development in the state.
The newly formed ministry is tasked with addressing the internal security challenges in Kano while ensuring that local governments collaborate with the Yusuf-led administration to create an environment of peace and prosperity.
