Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has outlined significant achievements in addressing the state’s substantial infrastructural deficit over the past six years of his administration.
In an interview at the Ogun State Assembly, Abiodun emphasized that his government has avoided imposing additional financial burdens on residents while enhancing revenue streams to fund development projects. He credited the state’s increased internally generated revenue (IGR) to his administration’s “financial creativity and transparency.”
The governor pledged to complete all developmental projects initiated during his tenure, focusing on initiatives that generate revenue, create jobs, and align with Ogun State’s Economic Development Plan and Strategy 2021–2025.
“Our developmental agenda is structured around projects consistent with the seven thematic areas of the Medium-Term National Development Plan 2021–2025,” Abiodun said. These areas include economic growth, infrastructure development, governance, human capital investment, social progress, regional integration, and effective plan execution.
As part of his administration’s vision, Abiodun recently presented a proposed 2025 budget of ₦1.054 trillion to the Ogun State Assembly. Dubbed the “Budget of Hope and Prosperity,” the proposal reflects the government’s focus on sustainable growth and improved welfare for Ogun State residents.
Governor Abiodun’s commitment to addressing infrastructural gaps and driving economic progress has been a cornerstone of his administration, promising continued focus on strategic development for the state’s prosperity.
