John Mahama, the President-Elect of Ghana, visited President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday.
The visit was revealed by Dada Olusegun, Tinubu’s Special Assistant on Social Media, in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday. “The President-Elect of Ghana, H.E John Dramani Mahama, paid a courtesy visit to President Tinubu at his residence, Presidential Villa, State House Yesterday,” the post read.
Mahama’s visit followed his recent victory in Ghana’s 2024 presidential election. The Electoral Commission of Ghana (ECG) officially declared Mahama, representing the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as the winner last Monday.
In a congratulatory phone call after the announcement, President Tinubu expressed optimism that Mahama’s leadership would foster greater stability within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). Tinubu also shared his enthusiasm for collaborating with Mahama’s incoming administration to enhance bilateral relations and work towards a brighter future for the West African region.
