FG Launches Ibadan–Ijebu Ode Road Dualisation

The Federal Government will today, August 24, flag off the dualisation of the Ibadan–Ijebu Ode Road, a major project expected to improve connectivity, ease transportation and boost economic activities between Oyo and Ogun states.

The flag-off ceremony, organised by the Federal Ministry of Works, is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at the Open Field of Legacy Estate, along the Idi Ayunre axis of the road in Oyo State.

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) recently approved the award of the dualisation contract to JRB Construction Limited.

The Ibadan–Ijebu Ode corridor is a major South-West route linking communities in Oyo and Ogun states and facilitating the movement of people, agricultural produce, goods and services.

The project is expected to reduce traffic congestion and travel time, improve road safety and unlock greater economic opportunities for communities along the corridor.

Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, is expected at the ceremony alongside senior government officials, traditional rulers, community leaders and other stakeholders.

The dualisation is also expected to strengthen regional road connectivity and facilitate the movement of goods and services across the South-West.
