Labour Activist Criticises Tinubu Over “Imperial” Leadership Approach

A labour activist, Andrew Emelieze, has criticised the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accusing it of failing to address Nigeria’s worsening economic and security challenges.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Emelieze said many Nigerians are grappling with severe economic hardship, while insecurity, including kidnapping, banditry and other violent crimes, continues to threaten lives and livelihoods across the country.

He argued that government policies and programmes have compounded the difficulties faced by citizens, leading to growing dissatisfaction among the population.

According to him, many Nigerians who expected improvements in living conditions and national security have been left disappointed by the administration’s performance.

“Mr President, you are not doing well at all. Your reign has been calamitous, devastating, hellish and highly injurious to the Nigerian people,” Emelieze said.

The labour leader also criticised what he described as a detached style of leadership, stressing that elected officials remain accountable to the people.

“Stop behaving like an emperor; you are not a landlord in Aso Rock,” he added.

Emelieze urged the President to pay closer attention to public concerns and reflect on the legacy he intends to leave after his tenure.

He maintained that it was not too late for the administration to adjust its policies, ease hardship and restore public confidence.

The comments come amid ongoing public debate over the state of the economy, security challenges and the impact of reforms introduced by the federal government since Tinubu assumed office.
