Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto has urged residents of Gudu Local Government Area to support authorities by providing crucial information and intelligence to help combat the armed bandits troubling the region.
Speaking during a visit to thank the community on Friday, Governor Aliyu emphasized the importance of cooperation between locals and security agencies.
“People of Gudu, please collaborate with us and provide the security agencies with information to help address the banditry affecting us,” the governor stated. He highlighted that ensuring safety in the area is a collective effort, necessitating the involvement of all community members.
Governor Aliyu reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to enhancing the safety and security of the state. He also announced plans to renovate the Balle General Hospital, which has been in severe disrepair. “I have instructed the immediate renovation of the Balle Health facility to ensure continued access to essential services,” he said.
In addition to the hospital renovation, the governor revealed plans to install 250 powered street lights throughout the Gudu Local Government Area to improve safety and visibility.
The state government has awarded contracts for the renovation of the Tangaza to Gudu Road, aimed at improving accessibility for communities along the route.
The governor’s efforts were met with gratitude from the local community. A representative expressed appreciation for the attention given to the area’s security concerns and assured the governor of their ongoing support.
