Saudi  Sponsors Nigerian Pilgrims for Umrah

The Saudi Arabian Embassy in Nigeria hosted a grand farewell ceremony for 20 Nigerian pilgrims selected for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Guests Programme for Umrah 2025. This initiative highlights Saudi Arabia’s commitment to fostering Islamic unity and providing access to Islam’s sacred sites.

His Excellency Faisal bin Ibrahim Al-Ghamdi, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Nigeria, presided over the ceremony, emphasizing the Kingdom’s dedication to supporting Muslims globally and strengthening spiritual bonds through pilgrimage.

The programme, launched by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, offers full sponsorship for Muslims from diverse backgrounds to perform Umrah, reaffirming Saudi Arabia’s role as the spiritual center of the Islamic world.

In his keynote address, Ambassador Al-Ghamdi praised the leadership of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their dedication to enhancing pilgrim services. He highlighted Saudi Arabia’s $100 billion investment in modernizing the Two Holy Mosques, which includes advanced infrastructure, state-of-the-art crowd management systems, and cutting-edge technology to provide a seamless and spiritually fulfilling experience.

“The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince consider the well-being of pilgrims a sacred duty and immense honor. Through this programme and other initiatives, Saudi Arabia continues to strengthen bonds of brotherhood among Muslims while prioritizing their safety and comfort,” Al-Ghamdi stated.

He also encouraged pilgrims to respect the Kingdom’s laws and regulations to ensure order and safety for all visitors.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Guests Programme covers all travel, accommodation, and logistics expenses, serving as a hallmark of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to unite Muslims globally.

The Nigerian pilgrims expressed heartfelt gratitude to King Salman for his generosity, commending the Kingdom’s unwavering dedication to serving Islam and the global Muslim community.

This initiative underscores Saudi Arabia’s role as a guardian of Islamic heritage and a host to millions of Muslims seeking spiritual fulfillment at Islam’s holiest sites.
