The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared itself united and capable of addressing challenges in the South-East region. This was stated by Chief Ali Odefa, PDP National Vice Chairman, South-East, in a communiqué issued after the Zonal Executive Committee (ZEC) meeting held at the Government House, Enugu, on Friday.
The meeting, led by Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State, included prominent party figures such as former Senate President Adolphus Wabara, Senate Minority Whip Osita Ngwu, members of the National Assembly, former governors, and ministers.
Odefa emphasized the party’s commitment to strengthening its presence in the South-East and warned against external interference or actions that could create discord.
The ZEC commended the Court of Appeal’s judgment affirming Sunday Udeh-Okoye as the PDP National Secretary, aligning with the party’s constitution and South-East ZEC’s position. Odefa reaffirmed the region’s support for Udeh-Okoye, expressing confidence in the judiciary to uphold justice.
“The ZEC meeting hereby adopts the zoning of national and zonal offices of the party,” he added.
The PDP also reiterated its focus on restoring its influence in the South-East and across Nigeria, while urging unity and resistance to divisive elements.
