The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has withdrawn its earlier directive imposing a 4% Free on Board (FOB) import charge, calling on stakeholders to recapture their declarations to ensure smooth clearance of goods.
In a statement issued by the National Public Relations Officer, Assistant Comptroller of Customs Abdullahi Maiwada, the NCS explained that the decision was made to enhance clarity, maintain consistency in customs operations, and prevent disruptions in the clearance process.
Importers and agents have been advised to promptly recapture their entries through the designated customs processing platforms, with assurances that necessary measures are in place to make the process seamless.
Furthermore, Customs commands nationwide have been directed to provide assistance and clarifications to affected stakeholders to facilitate compliance.
