The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has unveiled its timetable for the sale of nomination forms, screening, and primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the party fixing its presidential nomination form at ₦60 million.
The timetable was contained in a statement jointly signed by the party’s National Chairman, Moses Cleopas Zuwoghe, and National Secretary, Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu.
According to the party, the ₦60 million presidential fee comprises ₦20 million for the Expression of Interest form and ₦40 million for the nomination form.
The NDC also fixed the cost of its governorship form at ₦30 million, broken down into ₦10 million for the Expression of Interest form and ₦20 million for the nomination form.
Under the approved fee structure:
· Senatorial aspirants will pay ₦8 million
· House of Representatives aspirants will pay ₦6 million
· State House of Assembly aspirants will pay ₦2.5 million
The party said the sale of nomination forms will commence on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, and close on Monday, May 18, 2026.
Screening and interview of aspirants are scheduled to hold between May 19 and May 21, 2026, to determine the eligibility of candidates seeking to participate in the party’s primaries.
Aspirants were advised to appear for the screening exercise with all required credentials and supporting documents.
According to the timetable, appeals arising from the screening process will be entertained on May 25 and 26, while primary elections for various elective positions are slated for May 27 and 28, 2026.
The party’s presidential primary election is expected to take place on May 29, 2026, in Abuja.
The NDC added that governorship primaries would be conducted at the local government level.
The party further stated that all aspirants would be required to sign an undertaking in line with its code of conduct and internal guidelines.
According to the statement, the NDC will adopt an open secret ballot system for its primaries, which it said is aimed at promoting transparency, fairness, and internal democracy.
The party assured members and aspirants of a credible and inclusive process throughout the conduct of the 2027 primary elections.
