2027: Uzodimma, APC Leaders Push Unity After Primaries

Hope Uzodimma has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State to remain united following the party’s recent primaries and congresses, stressing that collective interest must override personal ambitions ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He made the appeal during a post-primary stakeholders’ meeting held at the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Convention Centre in Owerri, where he congratulated newly elected party officials and candidates.

Uzodimma described the primaries as successful and said they would strengthen the APC’s internal structure and electoral readiness. According to him, political contests naturally produce winners and losers, adding that aggrieved aspirants should accept outcomes in the spirit of sportsmanship and party loyalty.

“There is no way to build consensus without sacrifice. Politics is about service to the people, not personal interests,” he said.

The governor also said his administration remains committed to discipline, fairness, equity, and inclusive development, while urging politicians to prioritise what he called “hygiene in the political system” by focusing on selfless service rather than personal gain.

Uzodimma further commended the growing use of consensus arrangements within the party, saying it reflects a deliberate effort to strengthen internal cohesion ahead of future elections.
