Gov. Radda Pledges to Preserve Katsina’s Cultural Heritage

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to preserving the cultural heritage and dignity of the emirates in the state.

Speaking at the Hawan Magajiya Fiesta in Daura Emirate, Governor Radda emphasized the historical importance of Daura as Nigeria’s oldest emirate and a key part of the nation’s identity.

“Daura’s story is Nigeria’s story. Its ancient walls, vibrant festivals, and the wisdom of its people remind us who we are. Culture is the soul of progress,” he stated.

He vowed to protect and promote the traditions of the emirates, ensuring that their legacy endures for future generations.

“We’ll defend the dignity of our emirates, nurture our culture, and ensure that our progress continues. We won’t back down; we’ll grow stronger together,” Radda added.

The governor also called on citizens to support their leaders in fostering peace and development.

The event attracted international recognition, with Finland’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Sandra Selin, commending the festival as a well-organized showcase of rich cultural heritage. Similarly, Bulgaria’s Ambassador, Yanko Yornadov, expressed admiration for the vibrant celebration and the opportunity to experience Katsina’s traditions firsthand.
