Flying Officer David Sangokoya of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has become the first African cadet to win the prestigious International Cadet Sword of Honour from the Royal Air Force College Cranwell in the UK. He was awarded for his outstanding performance as the top international student and overall best performer in the Leadership and Training Course for the 2023-2024 academic year.
During a commendation ceremony at NAF Headquarters in Abuja, Chief of Air Staff (CAS) Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar hailed the achievement as “ground-breaking.” He emphasized that Sangokoya’s accomplishment highlights the excellence within the Nigerian Air Force and serves as inspiration for future officers
Abubakar commended the UK Government for its support in offering world-class training, noting the strong bilateral relationship that enhances global security cooperation.
