Mason Greenwood has been removed from EA Sports’ FIFA 22 video game following charges of rape and physical assault.
Greenwood was detained on suspicion of rape and assault after his ex-girlfriend uploaded photographs and videos on social media claiming acts of abuse.
Following the weekend’s allegations, the 20-year-old was suspended from playing or training with Manchester United.
Police are continuing their investigation to get to the bottom of the situation, and FIFA has already pulled the forward from the game.
As the investigation continues, Greenwood has been withdrawn from United’s roster and also can’t be drafted into the virtuaemoved from FIFA 22.
Following the latest update for the title, which was released on all platforms including PlayStation, Xbox, and PC on Tuesday, February 1, 2021, Greenwood no longer features on the game’s offline modes.
However, according to the Manchester Evening News, Greenwood’s FIFA 2022 Ultimate team remains active.
And the striker can still be traded on the FUT 22 transfer market.
Greenwood was rated 79 out of 99 at the time of his removal, with a potential rating of 90.
Cadbury also announced that Greenwood wouldn’t feature on any of their marketing products, while Nike has also distanced themselves from the United striker.
