President Bola Tinubu has appointed chairpersons for 43 federal agencies and parastatals, alongside a new Managing Director for the Nigerian Railway Corporation and a Director-General for the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI). The appointments, announced by the President’s Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, take immediate effect.
Tinubu also directed the chairpersons to respect the non-executive nature of their roles and avoid interfering in the day-to-day management of their organizations.
Among the appointees are:
- Hon. Hillard Eta (Chairman, National Youth Service Corps, Cross River)
- Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi (Chairman, Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Lagos)
- Alhaji Abdullahi U. Ganduje (Chairman, Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, Kano)
- Senator Surajudeen Bashiru Ajibola (Chairman, National Sugar Development Council, Osun)
- Raji Kazeem Kolawole (Director-General, NBTI, Oyo)
- Dr. Kayode Isiak Opeifa (Managing Director, Nigerian Railway Corporation, Lagos)
Other notable appointments include:
- Sulaiman Argungu (Chairman, Nigeria Bulk Electricity Trading Company, Kebbi)
- Senator Magnus Abe (Chairman, National Agency for Great Green Wall, Rivers)
- Nasiru Gawuna (Chairman, Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, Kano)
- Chief Victor Tombari Giadom (Chairman, Nigerian Institute of Educational Planning and Administration, Rivers)
Additionally, Major General Jubril Abdulmalik (rtd) was appointed Secretary to the Civil Defence, Immigration, and Prisons Services Board. Several individuals were also named as chairpersons for federal teaching hospitals, including:
- Hon. Durotolu Oyebode Bankole (Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido Ekiti, Ogun)
- Dr. Ijeoma Arodiogbu (David Umahi Federal University Teaching Hospital, Ebonyi, Imo)
