Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has declared support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, arguing that the president needs more than four years to deliver the desired results of his reforms.
Adeleke spoke on Wednesday at the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where he pledged his support for Tinubu’s second term.
The governor expressed confidence that Tinubu would return to Aso Rock after the 2027 election, saying another term would give the president more time to consolidate his reform agenda.
“We must give our father, the president of this nation, time for his reform to work. It’s not easy. Four years is not enough,” Adeleke said.
“That is why I’m here to throw my weight.”
He urged supporters to intensify mobilisation for Tinubu’s re-election, expressing confidence that the administration’s success would benefit Nigerians.
“Nobody can stop this movement. We’re going to sing; we’re going to dance all the way back to Aso Rock,” he said.
“We don’t have time. The work has begun. I’ve already started mine. Let us rise and make sure our president comes back for the second time.
“Continue praying for Mr President. If he succeeds, we all succeed. And I know by the special grace of God, we shall get there.”
Adeleke’s endorsement comes despite his membership of the Accord party. The APC’s revised presidential campaign council list, released on Tuesday, named him as Tinubu’s campaign coordinator in Osun State.
The list also included Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo and named Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as campaign coordinator for Rivers State and the FCT.
