Chinese leader President Xi Jinping has invited President Bola Tinubu to a state visit to China in September.
The invitation was delivered by China’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chen Xiaodong, at the Aso Villa on Thursday.
President Tinubu has accepted the invitation, as confirmed by a statement from Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy. The visit aims to bolster Nigeria-China bilateral relations and advance the proposed currency swap agreement.
The statement also mentioned that President Xi Jinping has extended a warm welcome to First Lady Remi Tinubu during the visit. Chen Xiaodong was accompanied by a large entourage during the invitation ceremony.
