Nationwide #EndBadGovernance Protests to Continue Until President Tinubu Addresses Demands- Organizers

Organizers of the #EndBadGovernance protests against economic hardship stated that the nationwide rallies, now in their third day, will persist until President Bola Tinubu addresses their demands.

Damilare Adenola, Director of Mobilization for the Take It Back Movement, a non-governmental organization, announced this on Channels Television’s The August Protests program on Friday.

In a surprising development, Adenola clarified that human rights lawyer Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa does not represent his group, despite the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) having written to security agencies seeking protection for the protesters.

The youth activist emphasized that his group will not suspend the 10-day protests, despite Adegboruwa’s plea to call them off due to concerns that infiltrators might cause disruption. He noted that the protests could extend beyond 10 days, depending on the government’s response.

Adenola stated, “Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa is not our lawyer and does not speak for us. He might have presented himself as the solicitor, but he is not hungry. He is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria who lives well. He is not hungry like the people taking to the streets.”

“We are waiting for the government to respond to us and address our demands. Until then, the protests will continue,” he added, noting that while the protesters’ demands have not yet been met, their message has been delivered to the government.
