LP National Chairman Escapes Assassination Attempt, Abuja Home Gutted by Fire

The Labour Party (LP) has been rocked by a startling revelation as it claims that its National Chairman, Julius Abure, narrowly evaded an assassination attempt on his life.
Additionally, the opposition party alleges that Abure’s residence in Abuna was engulfed by fire in the early hours of Wednesday.
In a statement addressed to journalists, the National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, Obiora Ifoh, provided details of the harrowing incident.
According to Ifoh, the ordeal unfolded when Abure’s residence was mysteriously engulfed by fire shortly after 1 am while Abure and his family were asleep.
Narrating the terrifying experience, a family member revealed that they were awoken by concerned neighbors and security personnel residing in the compound.
The statement reads: “The entire family was trapped as the inferno had reached the staircase making it impossible for Abure and family to escape.
“However, it took divine intervention for the national chairman and his family to escape after neighbours and security men gallantly pulled down one of the windows upstairs making ways for the family to escape.
“Men of the Fire Service arrived shortly after Abure and his family were evacuated.
“Abure and his family were rushed to a private hospital where they are presently receiving treatment. Their condition is however stable.”
The assassination attempt and the subsequent fire outbreak come amidst a leadership crisis within the Labour Party, with the Nigerian Labour Congress advocating for the removal of Abure as National Chairman.
