King Charles III and Queen Camilla Visit New York Amid Tight Security

King Charles III and Queen Camilla are set to arrive in New York City on Wednesday as part of a high-security visit that includes stops in Lower Manhattan and Harlem.

The royal couple will begin at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, where they are expected to meet with first responders and families of victims of the 2001 attacks. The visit comes ahead of the 25th anniversary of September 11.

During remarks in Washington a day earlier, King Charles emphasized the significance of the moment. “We stood with you then, and we stand with you now,” he said, honoring those affected by the tragedy.

Following the memorial visit, Queen Camilla will travel to the New York Public Library, while the king heads to Harlem for a community-focused engagement.

In Harlem, Charles is scheduled to visit Harlem Grown, a nonprofit that provides locally grown produce to residents. The visit has drawn mixed reactions from locals, with some questioning its tangible impact on the community.

This marks Charles’ 20th trip to the United States and his first since becoming king. While the visit coincides with geopolitical tensions involving Donald Trump and U.K. leadership over foreign policy, the monarchy is expected to remain nonpolitical, focusing instead on strengthening cultural, environmental, and economic ties between the two nations.
