Governor Dikko Umar Radda of Katsina State has approved a new set of appointments across key government agencies as part of his administration’s drive to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
The announcement was made on Friday in a statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Mohamed, who confirmed that all appointments take immediate effect.
According to the statement, Abba Junaidu has been appointed Chairman of the Katsina State Road Maintenance Agency.
Junaidu, a veteran engineer, brings years of professional experience, having served as Chief Building Officer and Assistant Project Manager at the Ministry of Education, as well as Principal Civil Engineer and Chief Resident Engineer at the Ministry of Works.
The Governor also approved the appointment of Dr. Babangida Ruma as Director-General of the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency.
Dr. Ruma, who previously served as Technical Assistant to the Governor on Enterprise Development, is an award-winning technologist and youth empowerment advocate. The UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education once recognized him as the “Father of Technology and Innovation” for his work in digital development.
Similarly, Idris Usman Tune has been appointed Chairman of the Katsina State Civil Service Commission.
Tune, who holds degrees in Political Science and Public Policy, previously served as Head of Service until May 2023 and has decades of administrative experience in the state civil service.
In addition, Governor Radda constituted a new Katsina State Pension Bureau, with Ibrahim Boyi Dutsinma as Part-Time Chairman, Musa Rabiu Mahuta as Executive Director of Finance and Administration, Abbati Ibrahim Masanawa as Executive Director of Operations, Usman Shehu as Executive Director of ICT and Database Management, and Dr. Faruk Aminu as Independent Observer.
For the Katsina State and Local Government Pension Transition Board, Hon. Muntari Dan Ammani was appointed Executive Secretary, while Garba Sanda Mani will serve as Part-Time Chairman and Dr. Faruk Aminu as Independent Observer.
Governor Radda charged all newly appointed officials to focus on transparency, innovation, and effective service delivery, in line with his administration’s “Building Your Future” agenda.
