FG Promises To Pay July Salaries On Time

On Tuesday, Oluwatoyin Madein, the Accountant General of the Federation, informed the public that the salary due to civil servants in July 2023 won’t be delayed.
The assurance follows prior blips in the salary payments for May and June 2023.
Madein clarified the situation during a conversation with journalists in Abuja.
She explained that the previous delays were brought on by unforeseen issues beyond the Office of the Accountant General’s control.
She did, however, reassure that steps had been done to guarantee future salary payments on time.
“For May and June, we encountered some difficulties beyond our control. However, I can assure you that everything has been put in place to ensure that July 2023 salaries are not delayed and will be paid any moment from now,” said Madein.
The Head of the Federation’s Civil Service, Folashade Yemi-Esan, was also in attendance at the discussion and told everyone that soon public servants will have something to smile about.
Inquiries into strategies to lessen the effects of the removal of fuel subsidy on civil servants prompted this comment.
Yemi-Esan mentioned that a government committee is presently looking at ways to lessen the effect, like providing transportation allowances.
