The Super Eagles suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat to Guinea-Bissau on Tuesday in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying clash, leaving Nigeria to reflect on a disappointing night in Bissau.

Guinea-Bissau took the lead in the 15th minute when Franculino finished after being set up by Renato Nhaga.

Nigeria had ample time to respond but went into half-time trailing 1-0, forcing the Super Eagles to chase the game after the break.

Coach Eric Chelle made two changes at the start of the second half, bringing on Moses Usor for Frank Onyeka and Moses Simon for Taiwo Awoniyi as Nigeria searched for an equaliser.

The changes, however, failed to produce the desired response.

Guinea-Bissau doubled their advantage in the 66th minute through Mama Baldé, with Manadi Camara providing the assist.

Nigeria made further changes in an attempt to turn the game around, with Ademola Lookman replaced by Toluwalase Arokodare, while Akor Adams and Wilfred Ndidi later made way for George Ilenikhena and Raphael Onyedika.

But the Super Eagles could not find a way back into the contest.

Guinea-Bissau then delivered the final blow deep into stoppage time when Alvaro Djalo scored in the 95th minute after receiving the ball from Tamble.

The final whistle confirmed a comprehensive defeat for Nigeria, who failed to score throughout the match.

Guinea-Bissau scored in the 15th, 66th and 95th minutes to complete a convincing victory, while the Super Eagles were unable to produce a response despite their second-half changes.

For Nigeria, the defeat leaves the team with plenty to address as their AFCON qualifying campaign continues.
