Gov. Nwifuru Sacks Ebonyi Works Commissioner

Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has ordered the immediate removal of the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Stanley Lebechi Mbam.

The decision was contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Dr Monday Uzor, and made available to journalists in Abakaliki on Saturday.

The statement did not disclose the circumstances surrounding Mbam’s removal.

The governor also directed the former commissioner to hand over all government property in his possession, including his official vehicle, to the Secretary to the State Government and transfer his responsibilities to the Permanent Secretary in the ministry.

The statement read:

“The Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, FNIOB, FCAI GGCEHF has directed the immediate removal from office the Honourable Commissioner for Works Engr. Stanley Lebechi Mbam.”

It added:

“The Governor also directed him to hand over all Government property in his possession including his official vehicle to the Secretary to the State Government and transfer responsibilities to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry.”

The governor assured residents that his administration remained focused on delivering effective governance and improving public infrastructure.
