Uba Sani: Terrorists Deserve No Second Chance

Governor Uba Sani has declared that terrorists should not be given a second chance, insisting that those responsible for killing innocent citizens must be decisively dealt with.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme, the Kaduna State governor said bandits and terrorists have inflicted immense suffering on communities across the country through killings, kidnappings, and other violent crimes.

Sani lamented the impact of insecurity on families and communities, noting that women, children, and other vulnerable citizens have been among the victims of attacks by armed groups.

“I don’t believe they deserve a second chance because, in my opinion, they are terrorists,” he said.

According to the governor, individuals who deliberately kill innocent people forfeit any claim to leniency.

“When you call them terrorists, it means they are people who have killed innocent citizens. Certainly, they have no right to live; they must be eliminated,” he stated.

Sani maintained that terrorism should be confronted firmly, arguing that those who engage in acts of violence and destruction should not be allowed to continue threatening society.

“For me, I don’t believe when someone kills someone, you should just allow him to live again. When he’s a terrorist, he’s a terrorist,” he said.

“A terrorist is a terrorist, meaning he’s someone that can kill, he can destroy, and as such, should be killed.”

The governor’s remarks come amid ongoing national debates over the best approach to tackling insecurity, including whether governments should pursue dialogue and reintegration programmes for repentant bandits or adopt a purely military strategy against armed groups.
