The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Redemption Party has confirmed Donald Duke as the party’s duly elected presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.

The party also announced that 420 candidates contesting various elective positions nationwide had been cleared ahead of the polls.

In a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Muhammed Ishaq, the decision followed the review of a report submitted by the party’s primaries appeal committee during a meeting held on Friday, June 5, 2026.

According to the statement, the committee affirmed that Donald Duke was “validly elected as the party’s presidential candidate in the 2027 general elections.”

The appeal committee also upheld the outcomes of four other primary elections conducted by the party.

However, the party disclosed that the primary election for the Tarauni Federal Constituency was nullified, while candidates from other constituencies were cleared to participate in the elections.

Ishaq stated that the PRP remains committed to internal democracy, active participation in the electoral process and the provision of what he described as credible and transformative leadership for Nigeria.

He added that the decision to field 420 candidates reflects the party’s determination to expand its national presence and strengthen its participation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
