Tinubu Heads to Ogun for Airport, Key Project Launch

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to commission and inspect major infrastructure projects in Ogun State on Saturday, April 4, 2026, in a move aimed at boosting economic growth and improving service delivery.

According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, the visit will cover critical sectors including aviation, transportation, security, and agriculture.

Top on the agenda is the commissioning of the Gateway International Airport in Iperu, alongside two aircraft under Gateway Air, in partnership with ValueJet. The President will also witness a cargo operations demonstration facilitated by Skyway Aviation Handling Company.

Other highlights of the visit include the rollout of 1,000 electric bikes under the state’s mobility initiative, as well as the commissioning of 80 security vehicles and a fleet of agricultural tractors to enhance food production.

Tinubu is also expected to commission the Ilishan–Iperu Airport Road, inspect the Nigeria Customs Service Village, and inaugurate a Forward Operating Base.

In addition, the President will inspect the Gateway Aviation Village and commission the reconstructed Sapade–Ilishan Road, which will be named the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Expressway.

The visit will conclude with an inspection of the Sagamu–Benin Concrete Road project, a major infrastructure development expected to improve connectivity and drive economic activities across the region.
