The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared its resolve to wrest power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State and at the national level in the 2027 general elections.
The party’s leader in Yobe State and former Minister of Police Affairs, Hon. Adamu Maina Waziri, made the declaration while speaking to journalists after commissioning the ADC’s zonal and local government area secretariats in Damaturu, Tarmuwa, and Bursari.
Waziri said the inauguration of the party offices across the local government areas marks an intensified push by the ADC to position itself as a credible alternative to the APC in Yobe State and across Nigeria.
According to him, the party has been working towards a successful national convention and primary elections, which he said would further strengthen and reposition the ADC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Our party, ADC, is determined to challenge the status quo, and by God’s grace, we are going to change it. We are putting the party’s structures in place,” he said.
The former member of the PDP Board of Trustees noted that the party’s immediate focus is to convince Yobe residents and Nigerians—particularly the youth—that the ADC offers practical and genuine solutions to the country’s challenges.
He further disclosed that a nationwide membership registration and validation exercise would begin within the next two weeks, ahead of the local government and state congresses, as well as the party’s non-elective national convention.
