Israel and Iran have both accepted a ceasefire plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, bringing a temporary halt to 12 days of intense conflict that has destabilized the Middle East. The agreement followed a deadly exchange of attacks, including a limited Iranian missile strike on a U.S. military base in Qatar and a wave of Israeli airstrikes on Iranian targets.

Early Tuesday, Iran launched a series of missile strikes on Israeli territory, killing at least four people. In response, Israel carried out a pre-dawn aerial assault on multiple locations across Iran, targeting what officials described as key military and strategic sites.

Despite the ceasefire announcement, the situation remains volatile. Hours after the truce was to take effect, Israel’s military reported detecting a new barrage of Iranian rockets. Air raid sirens were activated in northern Israel, and explosions were heard as the country’s air defense systems responded.
