Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has firmly dismissed allegations circulating online that he consulted a native doctor to enhance his chances in the upcoming November 8, 2025 governorship election, describing the claim as a deliberate distortion of a comedy skit.
In a statement released on Thursday, the governor’s Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, denounced the viral video as “completely false and maliciously fabricated.”
“The footage being circulated was taken during an official engagement with Anambra-based content creators,” Aburime explained. “This session was organized by Ejimofor Opara, the governor’s Special Senior Assistant on New Media, to encourage creativity and identify challenges in the digital entertainment space.”
Aburime clarified that the video in question featured a comedic skit involving a native doctor character, a widely used trope in Nigerian online comedy. “It was a performance by one of the creators and not an actual consultation with a traditional healer,” he emphasized.
He condemned what he described as a calculated attempt by political opponents to manipulate the video for misinformation and smear purposes.
“It is disheartening that political opponents would twist a harmless artistic expression to mislead the public,” Aburime said.
Governor Soludo, he added, remains undistracted by such tactics and is focused on delivering his Solution Agenda\a comprehensive development blueprint aimed at transforming Anambra State.
Highlighting recent achievements under the administration, Aburime pointed to the successful launch of the Solution Fun City, a new tourism and entertainment hub designed to stimulate the local economy and support the creative sector.
“Governor Soludo remains confident in his re-election bid based on a solid track record of economic innovation, infrastructure development, and creative industry support,” he concluded.
