Former federal lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, has commended President Bola Tinubu’s foreign visits, describing them as productive and beneficial compared to previous administrations.
Sani highlighted that Tinubu’s trips to countries like Saudi Arabia, Brazil, France, China, and South Africa have brought tangible economic benefits to Nigeria. Notably, he praised Brazil’s $4.2 billion grant aimed at boosting agriculture across all local governments in Nigeria.
Taking to his X handle on Monday, Sani wrote, “The history of presidential foreign travels in this country has been infamously wasteful. There is an evidently notable difference this time around. The President’s visits have attracted verifiable and practical economic gains for Nigeria.”
He added, “To travel and come back with something huge is okay; to travel and come back with nothing is not.”
Reports indicate that Nigeria’s foreign direct investment (FDI) surged by 248.1% in Q3 2024, reaching $103.82 million, further underscoring the positive impact of Tinubu’s diplomatic engagements.
