A shooting at the Park Plaza Mall in Little Rock, Arkansas, on Black Friday left two people injured, according to the Little Rock Police Department. The incident occurred at 1:44 p.m. and was initially reported as a possible active shooter situation, but officers later determined it was an isolated altercation.
Police said the shooting stemmed from a “disturbance” between two individuals that escalated into gunfire. Two victims were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, including one with gunshot wounds.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott Jr. condemned the violence in a statement. “Two individuals today jeopardized the lives and safety of residents and visitors,” he said. “We are praying for the victims of this incident and are hopeful they make a full recovery.”
