After a successful appearance at the 5th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting of the African Union (AU), which was held at the UN complex in Nairobi, Kenya, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Abuja.
Senator Hope Uzodimma, the governor of Imo State, Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the former governor of Kano State, and others all received Tinubu.
The newly confirmed Service Chiefs, Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, and other chiefs of security agencies all welcomed the Nigerian leader.
During the summit, President Tinubu said past plundering and exploitation of the African continent would not be allowed to repeat itself.
His speech entitled “Address on Status of Regional Integration in ECOWAS,” Tinubu called for good governance to ensure a prosperous future for Africa, free from the exploitations of the past.
President outlined measures to bolster the coalition’s Standby Force to thwart coup attempts and combat terrorism in the region in his capacity as the Chairperson of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government.
The Nigerian president reiterated Africa’s unity and strength in a statement released by his Special Adviser on Special Duties, Communications, and Strategy, Dele Alake, and categorically rejected the idea of a new race for Africa.
