EPL:  Southampton Draw At Home Turf Against Leeds

Inspiring Southampton to recover from a 2-0 deficit and draw 2-2 with visiting Leeds on Saturday, Joe Aribo scored his first Premier League goal for the season.

Aribo, who entered the game in the 61st, gave Southampton a goal 11 minutes after his entry.

After Rodrigo’s brace had given Leeds a 2-0 lead, the former Rangers player capitalized on Adam Armstrong’s low ball at the back post to bring the Saints back into the game.

Kyle Walker-Peters completed the comeback with nine minutes left on the clock, giving Southampton its first point of the season.

After losing 4-1 to Tottenham Hotspur in their first game of the new campaign, Southampton now moves up to 15th position in the league table.

At the Emirates, Kelechi Iheanacho had an assist but Leicester went down 4-2 to Arsenal. Wilfred Ndidi was in action for the Foxes.

Iheanacho replaced Jamie Vardy in the 70th minute and set up James Maddison whose low shot went through the legs of Aaron Ramsdale to make it 3-2.

Arsenal’s new signing Gabriel Jesus bagged a brace on his home debut, with Granit Xhaka and Gabriel Martinelli also getting on the score sheet.

The defeat leaves Leicester in 14th place while Arsenal is second after securing two wins out of two games played.

And in other results champions Manchester City thrashed Bournemouth 4-0 to stay top on the log, Newcastle held Brighton to a goalless draw while Wolves and Fulham also settled for a 0-0 draw. Football Body  Appoints Ex-Governor Igbinedion As National Patron.

Manchester United have also suffered back-to-back defeats in the new season as they lost 4-0 to Brentford in Saturday’s Premier League game.

Through a mixture of catastrophic defensive ineptitude and Brentford’s opportunism, the Red Devils found themselves four down at half-time.

Goalkeeper David De Gea gifted the first two to Josh Dasilva and Mathias Jensen, while Ben Mee helped himself to a third goal and Bryan Mbeumo hit a slick fourth on a chastening afternoon for the visitors.

New boss, Ten Hag, had insisted beforehand that he was not panicked despite United’s lack of new signings.

But the Dutchman will surely be scrambling for the button mark after this debacle, which leaves his side at the bottom of the Premier League for the first time in 30 years.

Things may even get worse for Man U as they face Liverpool in their next game.
