The LCC Managing Director, Yomi Omomuwasan made the development known in a statement on Friday.
He said that the company’s decision to postpone tolling was motivated by the necessity to continue engaging stakeholders in the matter.
The deferral, according to Omomuwasan, would allow more customers to register for the electronic toll devices.
The toll collection was set to resume on April 17 after being suspended due to the shutdown of operations caused by the #EndSARS demonstrations in October 2020.
The toll plaza was reopened on April 1, 2022, but stakeholders vehemently rejected the plan by the organization to commence tolling.
“As a responsible organization, we must take full cognizance of everyone within the axis. Therefore, we want to continue with the ongoing engagements with our stakeholders,” the LCC MD said.
“The preparatory operations to resume tolling on the Bridge have been smooth so far, and we are grateful to all the key stakeholders for their cooperation.
“The planned commencement of toll collection has now been postponed, allowing more of our customers to register for the electronic toll devices to enable seamless passages at the toll plaza,” the LCC statement reads.
