President Biden earlier today addressed Americans on the new covid-19 variant making the news.In  his remarks on the Omicron variant, he  appreciated the South African government for alerting the world on the dangers it poses to people.

The variant he said  is a cause for concern not a cause for panic and promised to fight it with everything America has got especially now that children of all ages can get vaccinated.

According to the president, the best protection against covid is getting fully vaccinated and getting a booster shot which is  available at  about 80,000 locations in the U.S. and those who are not yet vaccinated should do so as soon as possible.

If there is need to get an updated version of vaccines, he will accelerate it and ensure that the FDA and CDC approves it.

Biden further encourage Americans that are vaccinated and still worried to  get their booster and if not vaccinated  to  get the shot.

He reiterates that the latest vaccine or booster will always be available for free and asked that the  rest of the world should step up.

To beat the pandemic he says,”we have to vaccinate the world and America is leading that effort.

If you and your family is vaccinated, you can celebrate the Christmas gracefully.

America has moved forward in the face of Covid-19, in the face of Delta variant and now we will move forward in the face of Omicron variant”

WHAT IS BEING DONE ?

Dr. Fauci says  people will  continue to get tested and the previous covid protocols are still going to be followed as usual. It will help protect  people from getting severely sick.

He encouraged all Americans to wear mask  indoors.

Biden added that U.S. is restricting travel from eight African Nations who already have the variant and says it could be  in America already but the restriction is  just to give America time to put things in place as protection measure.
