Protesters stormed the Dantata Bridge on Abuja’s popular Airport Road early Friday, calling for the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari, to resign (retd.).
The demonstration took place on the 61st anniversary of the country’s independence.
Protesters lit bonfires on the highway, carrying big placards.
However, as of the time of writing, highly armed police officers had dispersed the demonstrators.
When the Nigerian Police invaded the area, the protestors had just gathered at the location to commence their demonstration.
They used tear gas canisters and chased them down.
However, it cannot be ascertained if anyone had been arrested as of the time of filing this report.
