Vice President Kashim Shettima has embarked on a diplomatic mission to Dallas, United States of America, to represent President Bola Tinubu at the 2024 US-Africa Business Summit hosted by the Corporate Council on Africa.
The summit, a premier event for fostering economic partnerships between Africa and the United States, will see the participation of political and business leaders from both continents.
According to a statement from his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Stanley Nkwocha, Vice President Shettima will join a distinguished gathering of leaders from Africa and the United States for high-level dialogues, networking sessions, and plenary discussions aimed at enhancing economic cooperation and investment opportunities.
The summit boasts an impressive lineup of African leaders, including President Joseph Boakai of the Republic of Liberia; President Lazarus Chakwera of the Republic of Malawi; President Joao Lourenço of the Republic of Angola; President Mokgweetsi E. K. Masisi of the Republic of Botswana; President José Maria Neves of the Republic of Cabo Verde, and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Lesotho, Honourable Nthomeng Majara.
During the summit, Vice President Shettima is slated to participate in various sessions focusing on key sectors of economic development. He will contribute to the Roundtable on African Infrastructure Investment, offering insights into the impact and returns of investment in critical infrastructure projects across the continent.
In addition to his speaking engagements, the Vice President is scheduled to chair a plenary session on Navigating Africa’s Energy Future, exploring strategies for sustainable energy development and energy security on the continent.
Amidst his active participation in the summit proceedings, Vice President Shettima will also engage in bilateral meetings and networking sessions, furthering Nigeria’s diplomatic and economic interests on the global stage.
